We are currently only offering our services for coaching services.

The partnership developed between Aston Manor Cricket club and Broadway School has been established to support students with access to quality coaching and to progress their engagement into cricket.

Our coaching implant model works with a number of age groups provided by ECB Level 2 and 3 qualified coaches most of whom have experience at higher local cricket levels.

As part of the program coaches progress the students through the basics of the game to ensure understanding of core skills and techniques. As this progresses more advanced technique development is completed allowing participation in school fixtures.

Fixtures at Aston Manor CC

As fixtures are established Broadway School will use the junior cricket area at Aston Manor to play their games. On a reduced-size pitch, this will give every individual student the experience of playing competitively on one of the best local cricket facilities โ€“ developing experience, teamwork and also their ability to play in competitive games.

Supporting the fixtures with our coaches is another key part of the development plan to ensure that students learn from each game and also maximize the enjoyment we all get from playing cricket.

Training at Aston Manor CC

All Broadway students up to the age of 15 (Year 10) are able to take part in our junior cricket coaching sessions on a Friday evening free of charge. Here they will gain further cricket experience in their age groups and with a variety of coaches to further develop skills.

We are keen for Broadway students to also take part in AMCC junior cricket teams. We have teams at u10, u11, u13, u15 and u19 where we hope to be able to include Broadway students in as many fixtures as possible.

Students in years 11, 12 and 13 are able to attend the senior nets on a Thursday evening from 6pm. Here they are able to not only continue their skills development but also challenge themselves against adults as part of their progression.

From here senior cricket is the next step and we are really looking forward to involving students in our senior league games.

During the winter we are now also entering junior teams into the Action Indoor Sports league at all ages, as with our summer program these 8 a side games will be available to boys and girls.

Indoor is fast-paced, an excellent new experience for many who enjoy cricket and also great fun.

Aston Manor CC has a proud tradition of progressing young people through our junior ranks into our senior cricket and also onwards into professional levels.

Current Warwickshire Cricket League sponsor Imran Jamiel of JD Sports Tours is one excellent example also coming from the Aston/Witton area along with Ateeq Javid who played for Warwickshire, Brinder Paghura who has represented minor counties and Chris Woakes who has been in the ECB England set up as a professional from Warwickshire. Our connection to the Warwickshire Cricket Board means we engage on a regular basis for coaching updates and attending games at Edgbaston as part of our program.

During Summer 2022 we will also be completing events linked to the Commonwealth Games 2022 with a plan to ensure our activities develop a true legacy plan and further social inclusion for the local area. This specifically includes the development of girls’ cricket which is a big part of the plans for the Broadway School partnership.

With our club being based in Perry Barr we know and understand the real interest in young people from the area engaging in their passion for cricket, not only that we share that passion every day.

Our coaches have already started to support Broadway through winter coaching in 2021/22 and we now move into the next exciting phase of the progression of the partnership, looking forward to seeing Broadway students at AMMC coaching midweek and also playing games in the summer.
