Manor tie with Nuneaton

Simon Bowen’s 11 got the Manor off to a good start, and Austen Imber hit 48. David Bond’s 23 and Chris Wooding’s 11 led to debutant Loky Perera’s 21 not out including a six of the first ball. Defending 151-6, Martin Rose restrained the Nuneaton run rate with an excellent opening four overs for 18 runs, followed by Nick Farrell’s two wickets in four overs for 24. The game hinged on how soon top Nuneaton batsman Caratella came to the crease, and high quality catches from Wooding and Imber proved unhelpful, as boundaries became increasingly frequent after his arrival. With two balls remaining and two runs required, David Woakes trapped Caratella LBW for 69. The final ball was chipped in the air to mid-on but the fading light and dark background caused the catch go down. The run out was attempted but a single was scrambled to tie the game at 151-8.
