Vs Four Oaks Saints

Aston Manor Over 40s were put into bat in the early season sunshine. Former Aston Manor first team captain and opening batsman John Pigott hit 36 retired, and Ian Hudson made 21 before his run out led to Austen Imber’s 33 retired. Simon Bowen added 21 retired for Rob Bartlett, Chris Wooding (retired), Ian Bosworth, John Page (not out) and Saj Amir (not out) to take the score to 140-3 from 15 eight-ball overs.

David Woakes and Martin Rose opened the Manor bowling with economical first overs, and both took wickets in their second overs, with Rose then finishing with 3-33-1. Spells from Saj Amir, 3-23-1, and Austen Imber, 3-14-2, held back the visitor’s middle order for Dave Woakes, 3-18-2, to complete the final over with Four Oaks 15 runs short on 125-6.

The Tournament continues on 14th May at Walmley.
