Manor gain 20 points against Sutton

On a rain affected day, Manor travelled to Sutton Coldfield in a game which was reduced to 32 overs per side.

On a difficult track, Manor captain Steve Knowles won the toss and opted to put Sutton Coldfield in to bat on a difficult surface. This paid off as Sutton Coldfield were restricted to 94-8 off their allotted 32 overs. Manor continuously took wickets, never allowing their opponents to build a partnership, with Ricky Bassi (3-24), Steve Knowles (2-28), Shaun Carroll (1-14) and Scott Bryson (1-23) amongst the wickets for Aston Manor.

In reply, Manor lost an early wicket, as young Waqas Younis was dismissed, bringing Sharafath Yoosuf (40*) to the crease with Abdul Rahim (45). They took apart the bowling attack of Sutton Coldfield, reaching their target of 95 within 19 overs, completing a comfortable 8 wicket victory.

This victory earned a valuable 20 points for Aston Manor, hopefully becoming a stepping stone for a surge up the table.
