Under 13s Lose Against Strong Bedworth Side
Warks Cup
Opposition: Bedworth CC
Result: Lost
BCC 127 for 5 Wkts in 20 Overs
AMCC 94 for 7 Wkts in 20 overs
Our first real disappointment of the season – not so much in the result but in the effort of the team and virtually every individual and they were all told the same.
A strong batting line up with Warwickshire CC players enjoying the superb AMCC Strip and pitch conditions – a big thanks must go to Phil the groundsman as always.
BCC had two batsman reach their retiring score of 30 and this put pressure on the bowling and the fielding, neither of which were good enough at this level. With Zafran taking over the keeper gloves from Adam it was always going to be difficult, but a good learning leason which was to then be adopted across the remaining fixtures.
Good figures to report include:
Amar – 4 – 0 – 17 – 0, Usman 2 – 0 – 4 – 0
Adam Nevitt (yes our keeper turned spinner) 4 – 0 –24 – 2 and Reece 4 – 0 –30 –2
Although Amar got the batting off to a solid start reaching his retiring score (31) well supported by Reece (12) and Adam (20) and then a positive Zafran (11) to many wickets were easily thrown away and the total of 94 was disappointing when there was a chance to actually win the game.
