Title winning season for the U15s and U17s

Both the u15 and u17 sides had won their West Midlands leagues.

The u15 team started strongly with a number of steady knocks seen against some excellent bowling from Wolverhampton. The total of 114 for 9 with Khaym Khan, Usman Khan and skipper Haroon Mohammed (38) proving the Marin guys in a total that looked short. However, showing the fantastic attitude and team spirit they have all season meant that Wolves couldn’t score freely, Khayam again and Zayn Hussain, particularly holding them up. Then bowling star of the season Hamza Akhtar with 2 quick wickets going for only 12 runs off his 4 overs. Joe Griffiths wicket keeping also being top drawer. With two overs left wolves had got back into it needing 30 to win. The last over then bowled by Khayam Khan only going for 4 runs and taking his final wicket proving decisive – Manor winning by 6 runs. A great finish to an excellent season.

Manor u17s is easily one of the strongest ever produced by the club with all of the team regulars at senior level and making a difference in their respective teams. Even a major blow, losing their two Warwickshire players skipper Brinder Paghura and Sukjit Singh off to play in the National u17 final and the loss of influential wicket keeper Adam Nevitt couldn’t get in the way of an excellent win vs old enemy Walmley.

Kieran Carroll and Milky Byrne started with good tight spells, before Hamza – stepping up the age group again bowlers superbly with two further wickets and 4 overs for only 15. Further tight bowling and excellent ground fielding restricting Walmley to only 116 from their 20.

Manors strong batting line up has been headed by Amar Javid all season whose quick fire 25 started the guys off, but it was an excellent knock of 42 not out by Kasad Rasul that held the innings together as the rest of the guys chipped in including skipper Waqas Younis allowing a superb win as the total was knocked off in the 16th over Milky Byrne finishing off with a few big hits. This is a team of strong individuals and fantastic potential well done to them all.
