Newbold chose to bat first on their home track. The Manor attack allowed only one or two runs per over supported by excellent fieldwork on a difficult outfield. By drinks Newbold were 52 for 4 and on the back foot. Farakh Solaib bowling tight from the river end finished on 1 – 25 off his 12 over stint. Milky Bryne and Mo Ozair attacking the other end with 2 and 1 wickets each. Next bought Avon Turner in from the river 3 for 10 off 5 and another 3 from the retuning Michael Bryne to finish on a 5 for 15 from his 8 total.
Manor then held their nerves batting on a difficult surface lead by a somewhat chancy 48 not out from the Gazelle like Liam Rake supported by debutant Hamza Akthar. A statuart 13 n.o from Avon Turner allowed Liam to finish off the job in only the 22nd over.
