Manor too strong for Wythall

Wythall vs Aston Manor 4ths

Aston Manor 4ths 229 for 8
Wythall 188 all out
Aston Manor won by 48 runs

Batting first once again, Manor set off to a solid steady start from the youngest opening partnership in the league. 71 for the first wicket from the first 20 overs was a great platform on a wicket that tested patience, with boundaries set at test level! Joe Griffiths (14) first out for 44 trying to up the pace. A rare duck for the Beast, left Sahal Malvernkar (12) going on to score 59 in partnership with Vice Skipper Mark Christian 66 as the rest of the Manor boys threw caution to post 229. D Perks 6-52 thwarted a higher total.

Wythall a place above Manor in 2nd spot started will in reply. S Earles 62 leading the way. Weather interruptions gave Wythall only 47 overs. Inconsistent bowling and fielding allowed Wythall into the game, however, Manor to their credit stuck in and wickets started to come. Avon Turner returned 2-14 off his 7 over spell removing opener S Earles for 66. A wicket each for Connor Woakes 1-37 and Ronan Sheehan 1-22 along side a run out for young Sahal left Wythall needing to bat out five overs with 4 wickets left.

Returning Talat Rashid back into the attack opened up the tail, skipper Wayne Turner got one at the other end. Talat got another. The last over came Talat (4-22). Wythall all out 4 balls remaining!

A 24 point win to take Manor into 2nd place in the league above Wythall.
