Manor salvage draw
Leamington 157 for 8 in 45 overs
Aston Manor 108 for 9 in 45 overs
Aston Manor salvaging a losing draw
Putting Leamington in Manor tools to the task well keeping the run rate around 3½. Leamington 2nd wicket stand off 54, accounting the majority of their runs, with the skipper accounting a further 3/n.o, Ken holding the tail together to reach 157 off the affected overs. Wickets shared between Liam Rake ( 15-1-35-2), Geoff Knowles (10-1-33-3) and Kieran Carroll (8-0-34-2).
Manors reply was always a struggle after losing 2 wickets in the second over to N.Credgington who went on to take 5-31. Manor 5 down on the 14th over for only 38 runs struggle to rebuild. The 8th wicket fell in 32nd over with only 69 on the board. Great work by Liam Rake 38 n.o supported by Kieran, Geoff sort out the draw.
A couple of salvaged points, but not enough contribution from the batting, to a match we really should have won.
