Aston Manor vs Attock
Aston Manor 3rd team started the season in fine form.
After losing the toss Aston Manor were put into bat on what can only be described as an awful wicket. We lost the first 2 wickets for 10 runs until Mick ‘stayer’ Neville batted with great timing and experience along with man of the match Vinay who topped scored with 37, taking our total score to a respectable 138.
This was manor’s oldest team for a good many years with Geoff Knowles taking a fine catch, Colin Smith throwing his body to stop a certain boundary and Mick Neville doing some tidy fielding on the boundary.
It was then left to the younger players in Qas taking 5 wickets, Yo taking 1 and Vinay capping a great performance finishing off the Attock attack. Special mention must go to Dave Woakes who bowled 10 overs with figures for 2-25.
