Sunday 2nds Win Again To Beat Hammerwich
The Sunday 2nd XI carried on their rich vein of form with a convincing win over Hammerwich 2nds.
Winning the toss and batting first the Manor reached their highest score for some time, being 288 for 6 after their 40 overs with the young and not so young contributing.
Waqa Ali 70, Alex Rose 57, The Neville 43 (after a bit of score book adjustment by him), Amrit Singh 42 and a quick fire 14 from young Brinder Phagura including a big six.
In response Hammerwich got off to a good start but were soon pulled back by some tight bowling, with another 2 wickets for Yo Yo Parvez, the innings was halted by rain after 27 overs, and never being able to resume the Manor won on the better run rate and collected another 11 valuable points.
The youth players who are turning out for the 2nds are making a massive contribution to the team and long may that continue.
Report from a very happy captain!
