2s also lose against Brewood

2nd XI
Birmingham League Division Two (North)
Brewood 201-9
Aston Manor 138 all out
BREWOOD WON BY 63 RUNS

Manor’s 2nd XI also continued their run of poor form, especially with the bat, as they slumped to defeat at Church Road.

With 14 year old Sahal Malvernkar (4-40) excelling Manor would have been very pleased to restrict their opponents to 201-9 from their 50 overs. Kieran Carroll and Trent Turner both also grabbed a couple of wickets each with Steve Knowles taking the other.

Unfortunately, not for the first time, the hosts batting lacked discipline. Malverrnkar (38) showcased his undoubted all round talent and it was pleasing to see 16 year old Joe Griffiths (25) return after a prolonged absence through injury. Apart from those two, and Mark Christian (26), insufficient application was shown in the face of some outstanding bowling from John Redrup (5-19) as Manor were dismissed for only 138 in ideal batting conditions.
