2nds still in promotion chase
Birmingham League Division Two
2nd XI
Coleshill 131
Aston Manor 135-3
ASTON MANOR WIN BY 7 WICKETS
Manor remain on the fringes of the promotion chase following a comfortable 7 wicket victory away at Coleshill. Both opening quick bowler Kieran Carroll (10-3-17-5) and left arm spinner Jack Hobbis (15-8-14-2) were far too good for the opposition batsmen as they were dismissed for only 131 with Trent Turner (2-25) and Abdul Rahim (1-6) being the other wicket takers. Having started the season in the 4th XI this was only 16 year old Carrolls third 2nd XI match and it does appear that Manor have produced yet another gem from their much vaunted youth academy.
Trent Turner (55no) was solid and dependable in his role as opening bat, and along with the fluent Shozab Haider (47no) steered Manor to victory in an all-round impressive team performance.
