2nds denied by weather
2nd XI
Aston Manor 2nd XI 277-6
Rowland United 1st XI 185-5
MATCH DRAWN
The weather also denied Manor’s improving 2nd XI the possibility of victory at Church Road.
A commanding innings from James Bemand (106) together with some fluent stroke play from Taz Imran (77) enabled Manor to post a very good total of 277-6 from their 50 overs. Manor’s batsmen benefited from some slack fielding from the opposition, but this was still a very encouraging performance, particularly by Bemand and Imran.
Unfortunately rain cut the visitors innings short after they had reached 185-5. Imran (3-24) also showed his abilities with the ball, and Manor had the feeling that they had just exposed the visitors tail before the weather rendered everything irrelevant.
