2nds come unstuck against Bedworth
2nd XI
Bedworth 264-8
Aston Manor 180 all out
BEDWORTH WON BY 84 RUNS
Unfortunately a well under strength Aston Manor side were comprehensively beaten by runaway leaders Bedworth ending their chances of challenging for the League title. Bedworth’s experienced batsman amassed a huge total of 264-8 from their 50 overs with only Abdul Rahim (3-22) able to stem the flow of runs.
In reply Adam Nevitt (45), Rikki Bassi (40), Mohamed Aquii (27) and Waqas Younis (27) all made useful contributions, but none were able to make the big score required to put the hosts under any pressure leaving Trent Turner stranded on 24 not out in a disappointing total of 180 all out.
On a brighter note both Manor’s 3rd and 4th XI enjoyed victories against their Bedworth counterparts leaving Manor’s 3rd XI top of Division 5 and the 4th XI in fourth place in their division.
