Weakened Manor Lose Vs Brockhampton

Brockhampton 229

Aston Manor 96

Brockhampton won by 133 runs

Aston Manors recent run of poor form continued as their depleted side were well beaten by the runaway leaders Brockhampton.

Despite having five 1st XI regular players missing Manor got off to a great start with two early wickets, but a splendid partnership between Minor Counties pair Ashley Nahorniaic (81) and Henry Langford (78) put the hosts back in control at the Parks Ground. Excellent bowling by Christi Viljoen (5-49) with impressive support from young Rikki Bassi (3-35) saw the visitors rally well to dismiss their opponents for 229 in the 53rd over.

After recent batting slumps confidence is very fragile, and despite the best efforts of Chris Whittock (22), Herefordshire captain Chris Boroughs (6-42) ripped through the visitors batting although there was some dogged resistance shown by debutant Ian Prichard (24) and the impressive Bassi (22no) before Manor crumbled to another disappointing defeat.

Manor need to grind out a victory soon to ensure that they are not dragged into a relegation dogfight, which is so disappointing after an excellent first half of the season for this young inexperienced team has been followed by five straight defeats.
