Aston Manor 1st XI secured a much needed victory against high flying Tamworth in this Lichfield League Division One match at sunny Church Road.

Batting first, an experienced Tamworth side were dismissed for 158 despite a fine innings from their overseas professional Cooke, who scored 85. Christi Viljoen (3-17) again led the way with the ball and received fine support from left arm swing bowler Deepak Chabbra (2-30) and young spinner Nabeel Asghar (2-4).

Manors reply was built around a solid partnership between Abdul Rahim (47) and Imran Jamiel (44) before sensible batting by Adam Rana (20no) helped ensure a comfortable 4 wicket victory for the hosts.
