Manor Win Final Pre Season Friendly
Following last weeks defeat at Sutton Coldfield, where the major plus point was the promise of the opening batting partnership between Nabeel Asghar and Jamie Johnson, a much changed Manor team finished off their pre league preparations with a 21 run victory against Knowle and Dorridge.
South African Kyle Shreuder made his debut on a fast and bouncy track at Church Road hitting an aggressive 47 and with good support from Darren Baker and Trent Turner saw Manor through to a total of 221-8 from their 45 overs. Shreuder has joined the club with a reputation of being a fine left handed batsman, but he also showed his potential as a left arm spinner taking 3 wickets to help dismiss the visitors for 200. Debutant Adieel Aftab also grabbed a couple of wickets in an encouraging display which also saw a first Manor outing for wicket keeper Mickey Brommall.
The Birmingham League season starts next week on Saturday 7th May with a midday start at Church Road against newly promoted Eastnor CC, whilst the 2nd XI have an away trip to Penn CC.
