Manor out of Birmingham League 20/20
Birmingham League 20/20
Aston Manor 162-8
Walmley 166-4
WALMLEY WON BY 6
Aston Manor went out of the Birmingham League 20/20 competition as Premier League Walmley beat them by 6 at Church Road.
Against good bowling and fielding Manor’s batting was consistent but possibly lacked the X-Factor as they reached a credible 162-8 from their 20 overs. The main contributors were Shaun Findlay (36), Russell Guy (31no), Shozab Haider (25) and George Findlay (24) but unfortunately none of them could go on to make the major score to turn a decent total into a very good one.
Walmley got off to an explosive start through Tom Burton (26) and Jamie Harrison (23) but were pegged back by some good bowling in the middle overs by Shaun and George Findlay. George Allen (49no) and Michael Waugh (46) regained the initiative for the hosts and saw them through to victory with two overs to spare. Imran Khan, Shaun findlay and Trent Turner were Manor’s succesful bowlers.
