Manor Lose Against Cannock

On a damp miserable day, skipper Evans lost the toss and was asked to bat. The innings made a solid start with young Chris Whittock impressing with a mature innings of 34. He received support from keeper Neal Prichard (22), however, Manor limped along during a tight spell from Australian Brenton MacDonald (14-5-16-2), but a blast of 35 from young Shozab Haider near the end of the innings, saw the Squirrels to a respectable 152 all out.

Cannocks reply started off with a flyer, with Australian Mike Talbot hitting 31 at a run a ball. Fellow opener Woodcock reached 40 before being dismissed in a double wicket maiden from Peter Evans (8.1-2-18-2), and it was left to MacDonald to finish off a fine all round performance by hitting the winnings runs in an undefeated 61. Manor must now recover from this setback in time for the visit of strugglers Evesham, who we welcome at Church Road this Saturday.
