100% Winning Weekend

Manor started their Lichfield Sunday League season off with a resounding win at Church Road against Cannock Wood.

Batting first, Andrew Forman (36) gave the Squirrels a good start before a superb partnership between Abdul Rahim (134) and Kyle Schreuder (113no) took the match away from the visitors. Both Rahim and Schreuder pulverised the bowling with some awesome hitting, and with youngsters Scott Bryson (18no) and Brinda Paghura (15) chipping in with some late runs Manor finished on an incredible 340-3 from their 40 overs.

With the ball, left arm spinner Jack Hobbis again impressed taking three wickets and Paghura showed his all-round ability with some fine seam bowling. However, the biggest cheer was reserved for skipper Chris Wooding who grabbed a couple of wickets with some well-disguised and superbly flighted donkey drops’ to see Cannock Wood all out for 130, giving Manor maximum points.
