New Scoreboard Grand Opening
Scenes from a great night opening the new electronic scoreboard at Aston Manor Cricket Club.
The Club was delighted to have England International Chris Woakes back on the ground where he started as a very talented six year old! Chris took time out to chat to Club members, and in particular some of the lads he played youth cricket with at Manor all those years ago!
Also in attendance was ex England superstar Phillip deFreitas who combines running Aston Manor’s youth section with coaching the senior players and playing Birmingham League cricket for the Club.
Chris and Phil were joined by ex Aston Villa players Jake Findlay and European Cup winner Gary Shaw for a question and answer session following the official opening of the scoreboard.
Many thanks for all the contributions that has made this fantastic project come to fruition. There is a closing date of 31 July for any further donations toward this project. A plaque will be then included on the scoreboard to commemorate all contributions made.
If anyone is interested please contact the Club on 0121 356 6537 or contact us via our website.
