Ateeq Javid Receives 2 Year Contract With Warwickshire
Ateeq Javid has received a two year contract with Warwickshire County Cricket team. Ateeq, who is only sixteen, has developed through Aston Manor Cricket Club’s much respected youth academy and became a 1st XI regular in their Birmingham League team last season. He joins another ex Manor youngster, Chris Woakes, in the County squad, and if he can make as big an impact as Chris Woakes has done for Warwickshire then he will clearly have a great future in the professional game.
Both players were Aston Manor from a very early age and their success should be a great incentive to the next batch of talented youngsters that the Aston Manor Academy is looking to nurture. Club cricket has a massive role to play in the development of the professional game and we are clearly fulfilling its role of uncovering talented youngsters not only for the County, but hopefully one day, for the Country as well.
